   Saturday, 4 May saw the beginning of the 107th edition of the Giro d'Italia, the most important Italian cycling competition and one of the most eagerly followed in the world.    A treasure chest with a unique history is hidden in Florence, right in the historic center. A place known to many in the world, born in 1221 by the Dominican friars, who settled in Florence at that time. 5. Why do italian say ‘gettonato’ to indicate a person who is very successful or an object that is in high demand?

   Often in Italian, especially when talking about radio hits, we say that a song or a singer is very gettonato. The expression means that the song in question or the artist is in high demand and, therefore, very popular. The expression comes from the television programme Festivalbar, which for over 30 years was the national point of reference for youngsters’ music.
